Activities :

• Activities of the Lions Club of Raymond Terrace Inc.

The Lions Club of Raymond Terrace Inc., was formed on 5 September 1956 and was the 68th Club charterd in Australia.

The Club currently has approximately 40 members and still has one Charter Member who is now a life member. Another Lion, also a life member, who joined just after the clubs formation has perfect attendance since 1956. Altogether there are 3 life members. It is the home club of District Governors Jim Meredith 1977-78 and Bob Findley 2011-12

The Club is very active and each years completes in excess of 3000 hours, exclusive of administration hours, raising in excess of $30,000 per annum.

Significant Activities have been:

Donations and Community Services achieved:

• Driver Reviver
• Defibrillators for Local Ambulances
• Assisting the Aged
• Donation of a Hart Walker
• Donations to Charities such as Helicopter Service, Deaf and Blind Instutites, Cancer Research etc etc.
• Youth Service such as Youth of the Year and Sponsorship of youth prize at local art show.
• Purchase of Special Van to transport a child with Cerebral Palsy
• Mounting of RAAF Sabre in Bettles Park.
• Inauguration of the William IV Replica Steamship Project.
• Purchase and Building of the Raymond Terrace Preschool
• Installation of Smoke Detectors for Pensioners
• Hosting of annual dinner for returned soldiers
• Extensions to outdoor areas for Family Support Service.
• Support of the Schools as Community Centres Project

Fund are raised from the following activities

• Catering with a Food Van to raise funds
• Hire of Food Van
• Sale of Lion Mints and Fudge 
• Sale of Christmas Cakes and Puddings
• Raffles
• Appeals to the public
• Wrapping Christmas Gifts
